Menthol Cigarrettes:The Minty Killer
So there's a lot of managers leaving Sams this month. One of the replacements sent in from another club (in Silent Hill, I think?) Is PyramidHead. I heard he's a hard ass. I don't know if I really want him heading over my department. I also heard that he's really quiet and that he has a pyramid head. We'll see how it works out. I heard he doesn't bullshit and takes no bullshit from complaining customers. We'll see what happens. Patzo. Here's a picture of coach pyramidhead. http://www.planetfurry.com/users/guyver47/images/countdown/redpyramid.jpg | | Wednesday, March 29th, 2006 | | 7:28 pm |

Fursday Afternoon
Check this out:www.myspace.com/deadchoir. The Pennsylvanian version of The Dead Choir. They're basically a NuMetal band. Thay're pretty much the exact opposite of us. Need a new bandname...again!!! Current Mood: embarrassed | | Wednesday, March 15th, 2006 | | 2:21 pm |

Stuff
Hello out there! Haven't heard much from anybody lately, what with all of the breaking of spring. Thinking about honeymoon plans. Can't stop listening to NPR! Just put some pictures up on the fairly new Dead Choir my space page @ www.myspace.com/thedeadchoir. There aren't many band photos, but there are some SHC pictures which freak me out! The bass player from Devo has a new group out called Jihad Jerry and the Evildoers. You should check out the website www.mineisnotaholywar.com. It's pretty crazy! Can't stop looking at musical performances on www.youtube.com. The group Dead Prez has an excellent video called "Hip Hop" which is oozing with passion. Oh man! There's also an amazing performance of "Imagine" by John Lennon sporting a weird red jumpsuit which is excellent. Check out Sean Dailey's group Regardless's my space @ www.myspace.com/regardlessgr. He's a real nice guy with good taste. Current Mood: excited | | Monday, March 13th, 2006 | | 10:39 pm |
A show of shows
Wedding plans are good. Working currently on a chronological playlist (50's, 60's 70's, etc.). The band I am currently in with Dennis, Dan and Sean is playing Joel Mann's house party on March 24th. We are the Dead Choir. Sean Dailey's band Regardless will be there as well as The Naysayers of Maginity/ Maginity/ Chort/ Kirsch fame. What the fuck else do you need to know? Be there or I'll kill you! | | Thursday, December 15th, 2005 | | 12:32 am |
A Good Week
I know, you must be saying to yourself "What? How can exam week (for Pat) be a good week?" Well, I'll tell you: any week in which one hears the term greasy spoon used twice is a great week in my book. At work, someone said that I'm creepy, "but not because of your personality, because you wear dead peoples clothes". This didn't offend me, but rather made me laugh hysterically. Later on, I announced over the walkie-talkie that it was (and it is) my four-year anniversary at Sham's (thanks for that, Dan), to which that same coworker replied "..and his pants are thirty years old". :) It was good to see you, Kevin & Alexis. It was like deja-vu all over again. I got bitten by a JAW. You've made my month, dah-ling. Patzo Current Mood: calm | | Thursday, December 8th, 2005 | | 1:02 pm |

New business, new shiz-nass
Apparently I haven't posted in awhile, so here I go. According to sources near to me, my last post was very pretentious, so I apologize for that. So what is new? Not much...I am very much looking forward to winter break for a variety of reasons. 1. The first Christmas with both JAW's parents and mine together 2. Buying converse all-star shoes for my Groomsmen 3. Working on a graphic novel w/ someone you may know 4. Making some music(?)Playing some shows(?) Julie Anne and I are living in our apartment in "Midtown" and it's nice. The area is always somewhat noisy, but I like it. Living near the library/Vertigo/Grand Coney is nice, as well as convenient. I love this area! It's weird how different things become apparent about you when you move out of your house and into a place with someone who isn't related to you so therefore they don't have a grasp on your eccentricities. My hat off to you, darlin', for putting up with my obliviousness. I'm waking up, though. I've been very nastalgic lately, and I was thinking about the first band I formed. We were called Lazy Genius. I was thinking about the weird incarnation and how it evolved, and one thing struck me as funny: No matter what we did, every other show was good, or every other show was bad (depending on your opinion of good and bad!!!), in this weird fateful way. Many people came out to see us, even though we were questionable on the quality scale. I would like to thank those who supported us,you know who you are! Thus ends the ramble tamble. See ya. Stuff LJ Interests meme results
- down time:
Nothing is better than relaxing after anything hectic that may have happened or a long day at work or even at school. I prefer movies, or a good phonograph. Books are good, too. - drums:
The basis for every song is the rythm. It's what holds the song together, makes it tumble, makes it slow down, makes it stick to your brain. Nothing is more fun than air drumming, air guitar is a close second. - going to shows:
It's crazy that a group of people with man-made instruments can all come together with a melody that makes you feel something when you hear it. Live music is music in its purest form. - jones soda:
Cream Soda and Root Beer are my favorite. Plus, the most genius slogan in the world helps as well. (I've got a jones for a Jones...Ha!) - long drives:
It's good to have a nice destination as well. - pizza:
What can I say? I love pizza. It's a solid combination of ingredients. Pizza is so good that many people will eat various kinds of pizza.Even cheese haters like me love pizza. - popcorn:
The best stuff is from the gas station. Cheap and delicious. Making terrible movies tolerable just by being there. - reading:
See 1. There's nothing like reading words someone else wrote and getting a distinct image in your head. Good writers are experts at working the imagery in your head. - riding my bike:
I love to get fresh air. Looking at all of the trees and the sun and the birds is nice as well. - shoes:
These are very aesthetically pleasing to me. I find the word shoes itself to be very satisfying.

Biolife Plasma:Providing Gas & Record Money To A Jerk Near You!
I am at the GVSU Downtown Lab, while parking illegally at Burger King. Things are going good at the apartment. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, Julie Anne and I began living in sin at the beginning of June. My family and I seem to get along a lot better, as I think it's very refreshing for the both of us to not be living with each other. There is Some good News:Pat Wieland will be traveling to Chicago in late August to see his closet favorite band Devo. If anybody would also like to come out of the closet and join him, drop him a line. My Video Shoppe is the best, as is Strangers With Candy Season 2. My inner nerd has been unleashed as I have spent the last week playing Playstation 2 in between shifts at Sam's Club. Smile. Patzo | | Monday, March 28th, 2005 | | 5:46 pm |
The Demo
Kevin Timmer has posted some streaming files of our new demo, titled "Surving the Winter". Feel free to let me know what you think, and feel free to show your appreciation by coming to our show on Friday @ 7:45 at the Carillion Tower on GVSU's campus. Here's the Link: www.hommedeterre.net/glorious/landfill.h tm Thanks again to Ben, Sean, and Dom. And Jaw, of course. Current Mood: cheerful | | Sunday, March 27th, 2005 | | 11:14 pm |
"You Stole Deacon's Easter Basket!" -Creepy easter Bunny from Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey
I watched Austin City Limits this weekend to see if the Flaming Lips were on, but to my dismay they were not. If anybody knows someone who may have taped it or if anybody knows how I can illegally download a stream of it I would greatly appreciate it. I'll buy you pizza or something. Anywho, Easter went well. Julie Anne and I got all dressed up (but not showered, so we could keep our indie credibility in tow) to visit her family in the 'Stee. We are talking about moving in together this summer, which will be nice since people eat my leftovers and leave backwash in my mouthwash at the Wieland household. Otherwise, it will be interesting to see where this next year leads me. Regardless, I'm proud of all of my friends and most of my family and I hope everyone is doing fine. Confusion in regards to cars
I went with my Dad yesterday to get a new car because the blue 1990 Bonneville is a Deathmobile. The subframe has a 6-inch hole, the brake light has been on for three months, the heat doesn't work (nor does the air conditioning), the drivers side window will go down but not back up (embarrassing when you're going through the drive through at taco bell). So we went to the Saturn dealership and I got a used Saturn. It's really disorienting to go from a Deathwagon to a decent vehicle. In other news, Julie Anne and I had dinner with Kelly and Sean on Sunday. It was really good, because we had chicken and waffles. Although this may sound crazy to you onlookers, I suggest you try it before you knock it. Anyway, you're supposed to eat the chicken on the waffle, and it's yummy. Some might even say scrumtrulescent. Once again I'd like to invite you all to come see The Dead Choir play at the Carrillion Tower on Friday, April 1st. We have been working our collective asses off on our demo (which should be out this summer) and we sound well-rehearsed. Anywho, plus come out to the show. It's free, for chrissakes!!! Love, Patso Jaw-jaw-jaw, jaw jaw! Current Mood: contemplative | | Tuesday, March 15th, 2005 | | 1:32 pm |
So my family came back from Mexico the other day. It was nice to have a vacation from them. I will be getting a new car pretty soon so that I won't die in a Bonneville, or at least not in my Bonneville. I ran in to AJ today, and we discussed the unique band comraderie that his group talking to caroline and our group Dead Choir/Go Mortecai/London Fog/Pteradactyl Rimjob have. It's good to have friends. It's also good to have JAW. Time for class. See ya. Current Mood: Nasty (And I don't care) | | Wednesday, March 2nd, 2005 | | 8:24 am |
Is Jon Heder dead?
Is the man who played "Napoleon Dynamite" actually dead, or is this merely a "Paul is Dead" kind of rumor? I think it's the latter. Damn hooligans. Current Mood: awake | | Tuesday, March 1st, 2005 | | 9:53 am |
Don't want to meet your Daddy/ Just want you/ I'm a fatty
So here I am, in the language lab. Why aren't I doing homework? Meh, Cronan. Hope everybody is doing well. I was thinking about having a get together at my house next week since my rents are out of town. Any takers? Current Mood: curious |
